  • Most people feel little to no pain. The needles are very thin—much finer than injection needles. Sensations can include mild pressure, warmth, heaviness, or a brief pinch that quickly passes. Many patients find treatments deeply relaxing.

  • Acupuncture is commonly used to support pain relief, stress and anxiety, sleep issues, digestive concerns, women’s health, headaches, and overall wellness. Treatment is individualized and focused on the whole body rather than a single symptom. Please see our “Conditions Treated” page.

  • This depends on your condition, how long it has been present, and your goals. Some people notice changes within a few sessions, while others benefit from ongoing care. This is discussed during your consultation and adjusted as you respond to treatment.

  • Your first visit includes a detailed intake, conversation about your health concerns, and your first acupuncture treatment. The goal is to understand patterns in your body and create a personalized care plan. Sessions are unhurried and tailored to you.

  • Yes. All needles are single-use, sterile, and disposable. Acupuncture is considered very safe when performed by a licensed practitioner.

  • At this time, services are cash-pay. If requested, we can provide a superbill for patients who wish to seek reimbursement from their insurance provider. Please make sure your insurance will accept Out Of Network Providers befre requesting a Superbill.

  • Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing. Please bring shorts and a tank top if you are wearing constrictive clothing (work clothes). Acupuncture points are commonly accessed on the arms, legs, abdomen, and back. You will always be appropriately draped.

  • Acupuncture is generally very safe for most people. Your practitioner will review your health history to ensure care is appropriate and adjusted for your needs.

  • Responses vary. For optimal results, please arrive well hydrated and make sure you have eaten something withing the last 2-3 hours. Avoid alcohol and caffeine the day of your appointment. Some people feel relaxed and calm, others energized. Mild soreness or fatigue can occur and usually resolves quickly. These responses are discussed so you know what to expect.

  • Yes. A free 10-15 phone consultation is available to discuss your concerns, answer questions, and determine whether acupuncture is a good fit for you.
